Year-round, full-date child care for ages 6 weeks – PreKindergarten

• Preschool: 3 years - PreKindergarten

7 am – 5 pm

Staff

Our team is composed of an Early Learning Coordinator, an Assistant Coordinator, Teachers and Assistants. Continuing education and staff in-services are offered throughout the year. Our team works together to provide the best, developmentally-appropriate programming possible.

• Infant: 1:4
• Toddler: 1:7
• Preschool: 1:10

Licensing

Our program is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF). DCYF is responsible for ensuring compliance to state laws regulating learning centers for young children by setting safety, health and educational standards. DCYF reviews the children's environment, staffing requirements, policies and safety regulations, parent handbook and other operational matters on a regular basis.

Healthy Meals

Breakfast, lunch, and a snack are provided. All meals meet USDA nutritional guidelines. The cost of meals and snacks is included in the registration/tuition fees.

Calendar & Closures

Be sure to note the days that Discovery Kids Child Care will be closed during the 2025-26 school year.

Discovery Kids will be closed if the Orono School District is closed for emergencies or bad weather.
